What is VO2 Testing?

Most professional endurance athletes undergo regular cardiovascular testing at hospitals or universities, but this testing is very expensive and time consuming. Our new testing technology gives both the seasoned athlete and the beginner the advantage of comprehensive testing at a fraction on the price.
VO2 Testing also reveals the exercise level that will optimise a person's ability to burn fat and the number of calories your body burns at diff¬erent levels of exercise. This gives everyday people the advantage of learning which levels of exercise best suit their goals for weight loss, improving fitness and general well-being. Trainers and many gyms often use crude and unreliable estimates to determine which levels of intensity you should train at. Our program now o¬ffers you the tools and expertise to measure precisely which levels of exercise burn the highest levels of fat, increase endurance and strengthen the cardiovascular system.
How will a VO2 Test help me reach my goals?
Once you start training with your personalised Intensity Training Zones, you will be using a workout plan that is specific to your fitness level and goals.
Whether it is losing a few extra kilos, improving your endurance or pushing new levels of fitness, by using the data from your VO2 test, you are now maximising every minute of every training session. With both athletes and everyday people often trying to lose weight, using your VO2 measurement is a way of supercharging your ability to burn body fat. Training at high intensities does not allow the body to maximise fat utilisation and training at a level that is too low will result in wasted time and little improvement. Using VO2 Testing gives you a specific plan for your individual fitness, body shape, age and goals.
The VO2 Test
The test takes between 8 and 15 minutes, depending on your level of fitness and can be done on a treadmill or exercise bike. You wear a heart rate monitor and a mask that allows our equipment to measure how much oxygen you consume while you exercise. The intensity of the exercise increases at 1 minute intervals until you reach your maximum e¬ffort; the intensity of the test is completely up to you!
